Working at AISD

The American International School Dhaka (AISD) is an accredited, private, independent day school serving the educational needs of the international community in Dhaka. Located in Baridhara, a residential suburb approximately 10 Km from central Dhaka, the 4.5-acre campus serves as a center for a diverse and involved international school community.

AISDEstablished in 1972, AISD is governed by a nine-member Board of Education, elected by the parents. The educational program includes a college preparatory curriculum supported by a comprehensive co-curriculum. AISD is typical of a top public suburban school in the United States. In addition, an international student body (over forty nationalities represented) and a diverse instructional program ensure that the school maintains its global perspective.

The school's mission statement proudly proclaims AISD’s commitment to creating students who will become stewards of a just and sustainable world. AISD provides a program based on American educational principles to students from an international community. We create an academic and social environment that challenges students to achieve their potential, become life-long learners and contribute to a changing global society.

AISD is recognized as a community based school in South Asia and our mission is accomplished through the efforts of experienced and talented teachers. AISD teachers are exceptionally committed to their students. Our faculty offers a rich and varied curriculum with a full range of courses, including: Band, Choir, Drama, Digital Photography, Art, Physical Education, French, Spanish, Bangla, EAL, and South Asian Studies. Teachers also provide an advisory program, integrated technology, Student Support Services, a required Senior Project or Extended Essay and the International Baccalaureate Primary Years and Diploma programs. Our students are also offered opportunities to grow and learn through an extensive sports and activities program. An essential feature at AISD is our school-wide commitment to service learning. In general, the school is the hub of the community, supporting learning opportunities for students and parents morning, noon, and night.

The AISD school community has much to be grateful for: a modern teaching campus, spacious physical education facilities, an exceptional faculty, a supportive parent community, and best of all a spirited and motivated student body.

We are always looking for thoughtful, compassionate and dynamic teachers willing to share in the lives of our students and the community that supports them. If you are such an individual, we look forward to hearing from and meeting you.
