Through movement, sound, and image, the arts transform people’s creative ideas into expressive works that communicate layered meanings. By participating in the arts, students’ personal well-being is enhanced. As students express and interpret ideas within creative, aesthetic, and technological frameworks, their confidence to take risks is increased.

Through the use of creative and intuitive thought and action, learners in the arts are able to view their world from new perspectives.

At AISD we endeavor to instill a life-long love, respect and understanding of the arts as a whole. In the middle and high school we strive to offer a challenging curriculum and diverse co-curricular program to appeal to all students involved. A focus of our program is to provide multiple opportunities for self expression and growth through the mediums of Visual, Theater and Musical Arts. In the Elementary School academic learning is complemented by a strong extra-curricular program which allows our young learners to explore many different avenues with activities in arts, crafts and performing arts. 

The arts are powerful forms of expression that recognize, value, and contribute to the unique local and international cultural character of AISD.
