PTA

The AISD Parent Teachers Association (PTA) is a body representing all parents, administrators  and teachers of AISD. The PTA organizes family events to build community and works to  raise funds for initiatives that support school initiatives. The PTA helps keep communication channels open between parents and the school through divisional parent representatives.

PTA creates a strong link for our children between home and school. It is an excellent way for parents and staff to work together for the benefit of students and the school.Through the PTA parents are able to build a strong network of friends, exchange cultures, and share local experiences.

What does the PTA do?
The PTA raises  funds to support educational programs for our students. Each year, three fundraisers that bring the school and families together include: the Halloween Carnival, a Book Fair and an International Fair. Additionally, funds are raised through the PTA Store that serves the community and is stocked, and managed by parents. PTA members also help the school during various  events throughout the school year including at sporting and performance events.

How to get involved?
There are several opportunities for you to help and volunteer through out the year. The chairs of each of the large fundraisers will send out emails asking for volunteers to help plan and execute events. These events require creative and administrative input. They also require parents to help with ticket sales and manning stalls as needed

The PTA store requires parent-volunteers to man the store during the week. You could volunteer to become a class representative Volunteer during school events. The PTA committee will share these opportunities with you closer to the dates.

Attend our monthly meetings! We’re always looking for new ideas and suggestions. We look forward to continuing the strong tradition of family involvement in the PTA!  The timing and dates of the PTA monthly meetings are advertised in the Weekly Tribune.
