COVID-19 Current Information and Updates

The American International School Dhaka was the first school in Bangladesh to close due to the COVID-19 pandemic, suspending classes on Monday, March 16 just prior to the announcement of the Government of Bangladesh.

We moved to deliver online learning immediately and we were prepared from several years of virtual learning planning and preparation. This remarkable transition was the first of many demonstrations of the adaptability, creativity, and resilience of our community. AISD closed the School Year 2019-20 with 11 weeks of continuous virtual learning. During our adjustment to this global health emergency, AISD has learned much that will inform our work in a hybrid/blended learning environment that will be part of our School Year 2020-21.

Town Hall for Parents: AISD will host a Town Hall meeting for AISD parents on Monday, September 14th at 7:00 pm Dhaka time. The link to join the meeting will be emailed to parents on Monday afternoon.

Today an email was sent to our community outlining school reopening protocols. Please refer to the email for details. Highlights:

  • AISD will begin classes on Sunday, September 6 with Virtual Learning.  
  • Virtual Learning will take place from Sunday, September 6 through Thursday, September 24.
  • The Tiger Tribune will be sent every Sunday starting on Sunday, August 23.

AISD's Leadership Team will host a Town Hall virtual meeting on Facebook, Wednesday, July 22nd at 8:00pm Dhaka time for our community. The team will answer questions previously submitted on various topics related to the 2020-21 school year. Our Communications Manager will send out an email to the community soon.
