Board of Trustees

The AISD Board of Trustees operates as a strategic board where trustees are focused on big-picture and on-going strategic planning, fiduciary oversight, ensuring legal compliance and the selection and evaluation of the Head of School. The board empowers the Head of School to lead, manage and guide the school as its chief executive officer. 

The Board is composed of nine voting members and one non-voting U.S. Ambassador's Representative. Of the Board's nine (9) voting members, five (5) shall be U.S. Embassy direct hires, four (4) shall be open to any nationality. All members of the School Board shall be appointed for a minimum of two years with an option to extend for the following years on a year by year basis.
